Jay Goldsmith spent the first twelve years of his adult life as a highschool English teacher. In 1981, having worked weekends photographing weddings for several years, he decided to give up free health care and ten weeks off every summer and devote his full attention to a career in professional photography.

Jay's natural light portraits have won several awards throughout New England. His portraiture relies to a great extent on a sense of place and the theme that we share a special relationship with the natural world.
